The Nascetta inaugurates the 2010 harvest!

a bunch of nascetta grapes

Today, Sunday, September 12th, we officially began the 2010 harvest. As you can see from the photo, the first grapes to be harvested are white and they are of the interesting variety native to Langa called Nascetta. From the samplings we took we should have started on Tuesday, but forecasts threatening rain on Monday afternoon made me change my mind, and we started today instead. Obviously this is only a little pre-taste of the true and proper harvest, the Matiré vineyard is in fact very small, and so we will finish the harvest very quickly. In the next few days we will start with the black grapes, don’t stop following me because this is not to be missed!
