My first waltz

Palazzo Serbelloni a Milano, very elegant setting, all the guests dressed in suit, classic music orchestra playing a waltz, I improvise myself in a dance with a professional dancer, clumsy yet brave, I only hope it finishes soon, my legs are out of sync, I try to look at her feet and it cost me a lot to follow her and I can not say no, I am the only wine producer from Viva Italia, the Italian-Russian association, who celebrates orthodox Christmas in Milano. After while I am back to my table, I introduce myself to the guests with the help of Barolo Serralunga 2005, everybody likes it, Italians, Russians and Italian-russians, all is perfect, despite the waltz… There is also vodka to drink on the table, but it seems that Russians prefer Barolo over it, quite a big victory! At some point during the evening, the sponsors, me included, are interviewed. I get a pretty strange question: “Did you ever think of producing vodka as well?” After getting pale, incredulous to such an intelligent question, I dodged it by telling them that I do already produce grappa, a kind of piemontese vodka, and I never thought of try with another spirit.

Before I forget, in June there will be another Italo-Russian wine-tasting of Rivetto wines in Florence, I am looking for a dance teacher who wants to be paid in wine…
