Barbera: he who waits, wins!

On 2 October, we completed harvesting the Barbera grapes, a truly late harvest if we think about the characteristics of this variety and the average in recent years. I wanted to wait as long as possible, to achieve the absolute maturation of the skins. The Zio Nando vineyard has always been aesthetically beautiful, but the analytic data were not satisfying, and weather predictions and the health of the grapes gave me the idea to wait, despite some risk. We shall see in a few months whether this decision has a positive effect on the wine.
