Briccolina, you’re a beaut!

Nebbiolo grapes for Barolo at the Briccolina vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba

Municipality of Serralunga d’Alba, western exposure, tending south, lots of clay and lots of lime, gorgeous-looking grapes, practically perfect skin maturation … the Nebbiolo Barolo grapes in the Briccolina vineyard are ready: today, the harvest!

A special thanks to four uncommon grape harvesters: Kim (Philadelphia), Marcel (Soloturn-Switzerland), Scott, owner of the Mondovino wine shop in Denver, Colorado and his wife, Nicole.

Grape pressing in oak vats, long maceration and manual wine crushing.

Good luck Briccolina, see you in 4 years!
