Nebbiolo Prima: dinner in Barolo

I’m just back from a very pleasant night at Locanda del Borgo Antico di Barolo, where all Barolo’s from Langhe producers were the progatonists, together with the comments from international journalists. The 2006 vintage was highly appreciated, especially for its potential when it ages. Wines were matched perfectly with food cooked by chef Massimo Camia, especially this rabbit on a bed of artichokes and olives “taggiasche”, truly excellent!

During the night I was able to chat with old schoolmates and very appreciated producers, like Pittatore from Bric Cenciurio, Scarzello from Azienda Agricola Scarzello and Pietro Colla from Poderi Colla.

At my table, there were my friend Wojtek Bonkowski, first journalist to direct a wine guide in Polish, the Polish Wine Guide , Ewa Wielezynska again representing Poland, the great Piemonte fan Ahn, Joon-Buem from Corea and the very nice Anders Levander who writes for Livets Goda, the most important Swedish wine magazine.
