My friends from across the Carpathians will forgive me for the Polish-isation of the title of this post, which introduces the topic of Nascetta. I cannot hide my happiness and surprise at seeing our Langhe Nascetta 2012 win the silver prize at the annual Grand Prix tasting organised by Magazyn Wino, in the category of white wines between 50 and 100 PLN.
Nascetta is a grape variety I strongly believe in and I am truly pleased that industry journalists and experts in Poland have recognised the progress we have made. The road ahead remains long, but the fact that the quality of this unknown native Langa grape is beginning to be noticed makes me feel proud.
It makes me even happier that it is Poland to do the noticing, a country where I have always seen enormous potential for the future of Italian wine. By now, its journalists and connoisseurs have built up a truly exceptional wine culture. Thanks to everyone and next year, I will try to win the gold!!
