We’re starting the 2016 harvest and trying to understand it at the same time. Spring was not easy due to the constant humidity present on the foliage, but the cool and sunny summer allowed the grapes to ripen in a constant and continuous manner.
This year will be rewarding to whoever has the vineyards with the best exposure and worked in a cautious manner based on the area. Wherever there wasn’t hail will have a quality and quantity similar to 2004, but for potential extraction we’re at the levels of 2006. The drop in nighttime temperature is ideal for nebbiolo, therefore I expect a longer year like in the past, with great aromatic complexity. I’m very optimistic about the complexity.
