Happy New Year 2011 to everyone!

I would like to wish all of you a splendid and prosperous 2011, with special good cheer for the owners of small and mid-size Italian businesses. They are the motor of Italy, those who do not rest on Saturday and Sunday, those who struggle daily against bureaucracy, those who suffer at every crisis and yet always lift themselves back up, those to whom promises are always made yet never maintained, those who often and voluntarily pay for everyone. The last bunch

October 30, 2010, the grape harvest is finished. The last Nebbiolo vineyard has been harvested, and the timing was perfect. Barbera Meeting under the snow

The arrival of Spring was predicted 10 days ago, but look at this photo taken this morning… The snow will welcome the journalists arriving from all over the world for the traditional annual “Barbera Meeting”, where they will taste Barbera’s from all around Piemonte.  In fact, Thursday 11th will be the day of Barbera d’Alba and among them, my Barbera d’Alba “Zio Nando” 2007 and Barbera d’Alba “Lirano Soprano” 2007. In the afternoon I will welcome the group of American wine bloggers, leaded by Jeremy Parzen: I’m saving a particularly intriguing selection just for them.
